Copper Flower Brooch Signed NYE, Stuart Nye, Arts & Crafts 3 3/4" Vintage offered by brightgems treasures. Statement Arts & Crafts Copper Flower Brooch. Hand Crafted and Signed NYE with the 3 petal shamrock, for Stuart Nye. The metal is solid copper in a dogwood flower design. Metal is blackened, or japanned. Its huge measuring approx. 3 3/4" X 1 1/4". Great example of some of his earlier work. A famous designer. Nye passed away in 1962, and began in business in 1933, in Ashville, N.C. His original work was done in silver, but during WW11 he began using copper, and the dogwood line was one of his originals. The family is still in business today. Like new condition. Dates to the 1940s-50s, mid century jewelry.
